Branch Insignia

The U.S. Army Ordnance Corps branch insignia is a gold-tone shell and flame. 

The Ordnance Corps is considered to be the oldest branch insignia in the U.S. Army and it dates back to 1834 when similar insignia was used by the British Army and adopted by the newly created U.S. Army.
