Insignia Details

The U.S. Army Transportation Corps insignia features a gold-tone ship’s steering wheel superimposed with a shield bearing a winged car wheel on a rail. Rooted in the World War I design and enhanced with the shield and ship’s wheel, the insignia symbolizes the Corps’ mastery of all modes of transport: the winged car wheel represents rail, the steering wheel signifies water, and the highway marker shield reflects land transportation. Together, they honor the Corps’ enduring mission to move, sustain, and support the Army with precision and excellence.
