Branch Insignia

The U.S. Army Armor branch insignia is a gold-tone front view of an M-26 tank with the gun slightly raised and superimposed on two crossed cavalry sabers in scabbards. The sabers symbolize the traditional role of the Armor branch and pay tribute to the Armor branch's origins in the Cavalry, which originally used the crossed sabers insignia starting in 1851, and the M-26 tank represents the modern role.
