Insignia Details

The U.S. Army Special Forces branch insignia features two gold crossed arrows, measuring 3/4 inch in height and 1 3/8 inches in width. Authorized for the branch in 1987, the crossed arrows symbolize the unconventional warfare skills, agility, and courage of Special Forces Soldiers. The design traces its heritage to Indian Scouts (1890–1926) and was later worn during World War II by the First Special Service Force, reflecting a proud legacy of elite service and dedication.
