Insignia Details
This vintage World War II sweetheart compact features an Aviation “prop and wings” insignia on silver, measuring 3 1/2 x 3 inches. Crafted by Elgin American and acquired through the Ohio Valley Military Society, it has been carefully restored by hand to preserve its original character.
At approximately 70 years old, the compact shows subtle signs of age, including minor paint chipping, light mirror spotting, and residual adhesive—please review the images for details. A cherished token of affection, it reflects the enduring tradition of sweetheart collectibles connecting loved ones during the war.
Sweetheart jewelry, particularly during World War II, served as a deeply personal token of love and connection. Worn by wives, girlfriends, mothers, and sisters, these pieces offered both a link to loved ones overseas and a sense of style, making them enduring symbols of devotion, pride, and remembrance.
Keep your jewelry sparkling by taking it off before washing, swimming, exercising, or using body products, and by keeping it clear of soaps, perfumes, lotions, and cleaners.
Each piece is lovingly crafted to order, so shipping times may vary. We strive to create and ship your jewelry as quickly as possible while giving each piece the care it deserves.
