101st Airborne Division

The 101st Airborne Division is a light infantry division in the United States Army based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The 101st Airborne Division is the only Air Assault Division in the U.S. Army. The nickname for the 101st Airborne Division is "Screaming Eagles" and their motto is "Rendezvous With Destiny."

Unit Insignia

The 101st Airborne Division Insignia is a shield featuring the head of a bald eagle. Attached above the insignia is a Black tab inscribed "AIRBORNE" in yellow. The insignia's design is based on the famous war eagle, Old Abe, that was carried into battle by the 8th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the American Civil War. Wisconsin is the territory of the original 101st Division.
